UBC Alma Mater Society – Student Nest branding
As the heart of student life on campus, the UBC AMS Nest is an extraordinary gathering place. Owned and operated by the Alma Mater Society (AMS), the Nest is where students come to meet, hang out, eat, and gain access to a wide variety of student services ranging from health insurance to haircuts.
Creating a brand identity for such a complex organization and destination was a challenge. Though located on the UBC campus, the AMS is a member-based not-for-profit representing 56,000 students. The AMS also owns and operates eight food outlets in the Nest, runs Nest Catering & Conferences, and provides a host of addition services. Creating a new identity package for the Nest, also meant producing a modern iteration of the AMS logo which had been recently redesigned. The result is modern, powerful design and storytelling that complements the organization, its new home, and the vertical business lines.
