WIEGO INTERNATIONAL – Videography & Photography Project
Location: Ahmedabad, India, Durban, South Africa, Bangkok, Thailand
Around the world, poor women workers fight to stay healthy and survive in the informal global economy. They work as domestic workers, home-based workers sewing garemtns, on the streets as vegetable vendors and cooks, and even doing hard labour in construction. This video project for WIEGO, supported by the Rockefeller Foundation, examines the role of primary healthcare access on their lives. Often for women as household caregivers it’s a choice: Your life, or your livelihood.
