Free of charge. Free of spirit. Car Free Day hits four Vancouver neighbourhoods.

On the heels of the wild success of the original Car Free Day on Commercial Drive–that saw thousands gather for live music, street hockey, food, performances, and more–Main Street was packed with pleasure on Sunday, June 16th, Father’s Day.  Hard to chose between street food (yummy octopus balls, gourmet grilled cheese, homemade popsicles), and multiple live music stages (Caribbean vibes or good old fashioned swing?). Good thing you don’t have to.

Mark your calendars next year, and meet the locals. You can go Car Free hopping on Commercial Drive, Main Street, the West End; and as part of the block party in Kitsilano. Festival is entirely volunteer run. Community cool.
